Toddlers are always moving, so everyday clothing needs to support sitting, walking, climbing and play without constant adjustment. Comfort comes from the overall fit and construction—not just the fabric name or appearance.
Look for room to move
Check that waistbands, cuffs and neck openings do not dig into the skin. Trousers should allow bending and sitting without dragging underfoot.
Keep dressing simple
Practical closures and familiar outfit combinations can help with busy mornings. Choose features that are appropriate for your child's age and ability.
Inspect details
Look at seams, buttons, snaps and decorative elements. Avoid long cords near the neck and clothing with loose parts that could become a hazard.
Choose for the activity and weather
Use removable layers when temperatures change. For outdoor play, consider the conditions and follow relevant sun, water and weather safety advice; clothing alone does not provide complete protection.
Care for clothes
Follow wash labels and inspect garments after laundering. Repair or stop using items with damaged fasteners, torn seams or loose parts.
